Government Supports Hiring of 800 Export Specialists for Content Companies
Monthly Labor Cost Support of 1.8 Million KRW Per Person for Up to 6 Months
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 30th that they will begin 'Support for Overseas Export Content Company Personnel' using the recently secured first supplementary budget. This project assists domestic content companies in hiring 800 export specialists. Starting next month, it will support the recruitment of new personnel responsible for producing export content, overseas marketing, translation, multilingual recording (dubbing), and overseas information gathering.
Companies with export plans or related contracts in eleven fields including broadcasting, games, comics (webtoons), animation, characters, music, film, publishing, knowledge information, content solutions, and advertising are eligible to apply. Selected companies will receive labor cost support of 1.8 million KRW per person per month for up to six months for the new hires. A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "We expect small content companies struggling with the transition to a non-face-to-face economy to find new opportunities for overseas expansion."
