View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Seoyoung] There is growing public demand to disclose the identity of a man in his 20s who caused the deaths of three women in a family at an apartment in Nowon-gu, Seoul.
On the 26th, a petition titled "Request to disclose the identity of the perpetrator, a man in his 20s, in the Nowon family triple murder case" was posted on the Blue House National Petition Board.
The petition received over 80,000 signatures within three days of being posted, on the 29th. As of 10 a.m. today (the 30th), 148,581 people have agreed to the petition.
The petitioner stated, "Women, who die by the dozens every day, are exposed to many crimes because they are relatively vulnerable," and added, "Although articles about the Nowon family triple murder case are gradually being published, the world seems strangely quiet." They appealed, "It is certain that the perpetrator committed the crime with determination. We ask for the perpetrator's identity to be disclosed as soon as possible."

View original imageEarlier, on the afternoon of the 25th, A (59), B (24), and C (22), a mother and her two daughters, were found dead at an apartment in Junggye-dong, Nowon-gu. The police responded to a report from an acquaintance of the victims who said, "I can't contact my friend," and discovered the deceased inside the apartment.
At the scene, a man in his 20s, D, was found with serious self-inflicted injuries and was transported to a hospital. It is understood that D killed the three women and then attempted self-harm.
Meanwhile, according to the first verbal opinion released on the 28th by the National Forensic Service (NFS), the cause of death for the three women was identified as "neck wounds." The police secured the mobile phones of the victims and the prime suspect D and requested digital forensics from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
