OB Beer-Road Traffic Authority, Awards 15 Individuals for Drunk Driving Prevention Contributions

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] OB Beer announced on the 30th that it held the '5th Drunk Driving Prevention Merit Awards Ceremony' together with the Korea Road Traffic Authority and selected a total of 15 people, including police officers who contributed to the eradication of drunk driving, officials from traffic-related organizations, and members of the Model Drivers Association, to commend them.
At the event held on the 29th, Ha-joon Bae, CEO of OB Beer, Ja-beom Koo, Senior Vice President, Joo-min Lee, Chairman of the Korea Road Traffic Authority, and Woo-chul Yang, Head of the Traffic Safety Division of the National Police Agency, attended to praise and express gratitude for the awardees' efforts to establish a safe traffic culture.
OB Beer received a plaque of appreciation from the Korea Road Traffic Authority in recognition of its efforts over the past five years to lead drunk driving prevention campaigns together with the Authority.
OB Beer selected a total of 15 drunk driving prevention merit recipients, including 10 police officers who contributed to drunk driving prevention such as the introduction of contactless breathalyzers, 3 employees of the Authority who contributed to drunk driving prevention and the establishment of traffic order, and 2 members of the Model Drivers Association who actively participated in drunk driving prevention campaigns, awarding them commendations and prize money.
Now in its fifth year, the ‘Drunk Driving Prevention Merit Awards Ceremony’ is part of a nationwide drunk driving prevention campaign carried out under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between OB Beer and the Korea Road Traffic Authority in 2016. It was planned to discover and commend meritorious persons who contributed to the prevention and eradication of drunk driving and to spread awareness of responsible drinking.
Ha-joon Bae, CEO of OB Beer, said, “Even amid the COVID-19 situation, we hold the awards ceremony every year to express our gratitude to the hidden heroes in our society who strive to prevent drunk driving,” adding, “As a leading domestic liquor company, we will work harder to establish a safe traffic culture and foster a responsible drinking culture.”
Joo-min Lee, Chairman of the Korea Road Traffic Authority, said, “We appreciate the efforts of the awardees who have worked to eradicate drunk driving despite the crisis of COVID-19,” and added, “The Authority hopes to continue cooperating with OB Beer to eliminate drunk driving traffic accidents.”
