Marriott International is the world's largest hotel group, operating over 7,600 hotels under 30 brands including Marriott, Westin, Sheraton, W, Ritz-Carlton, Courtyard, and Four Points across 133 countries worldwide.
The 'Marriott Shinhan Card' offers preferential services not only domestically but also at hotels worldwide through the 'Marriott Bonvoy' program, which has approximately 150 million members globally. The card provides the Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status (which normally requires 25 nights of stay annually to obtain) as a basic benefit during the cardholding period, offering perks such as one-level room upgrades depending on availability, 2 PM late checkout, and welcome gifts. Upgrades to Platinum Elite status are also possible based on usage performance.
Another feature of this card is that everyday card spending earns Marriott Bonvoy points redeemable at Marriott hotels and partners worldwide. Card usage at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels globally earns 5 Marriott Bonvoy points per 1,000 KRW spent, with 1 to 5 points per 1,000 KRW depending on usage. Additionally, up to 15,000 bonus points are awarded annually based on spending performance.
The card also provides an annual free night stay voucher usable at global chain hotels, a 50,000 KRW discount twice a year on breakfast at participating Marriott hotels in Korea, and 10 elite night credits required to maintain or upgrade customer status. Furthermore, airport lounge access benefits are offered up to four times a year for the cardholder and one accompanying guest.
The annual fee is 267,000 KRW for Visa Signature and 264,000 KRW for domestic use only. Choosing the Visa brand offers additional premium services such as worldwide hotel reservations through the official Marriott website, special overseas spending rewards, and overseas shopping benefits.
Meanwhile, regarding the launch of the Marriott card, a non-face-to-face signing ceremony was held on the 23rd at Shinhan Card headquarters in Euljiro, Seoul, attended by Shinhan Card President Lim Young-jin, Bart Buehring, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Marriott International Asia-Pacific, and other officials.
