[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] Murim announced on the 29th that it has jointly developed an eco-friendly cushioning material made of paper called 'Neopore Cushioning Material' with CJ Logistics.
The Neopore Cushioning Material is a paper cushion filled with air. It was first developed domestically in November of last year. After a pilot operation period of 3 to 4 months, it is currently applied to some volumes shipped from CJ Logistics' Baegam Logistics Center. Murim has also completed patent applications for the related technology.
This cushioning material received approval for the 'paper separate disposal mark' from the Korea Environment Corporation, recognizing its recyclability and eco-friendliness. Murim made efforts such as using heat sealing without any adhesives during the air sealing process. After use, it can be disposed of as paper without any special treatment.
Although made of paper, its performance is excellent. The cushioning material weighs only 1.6g and measures 7cm in size, but according to Murim, it can sufficiently withstand a sack of rice.
A Murim official said, "The Neopore Cushioning Material is expected to be applicable not only in the parcel delivery market but also in other markets," adding, "We plan to continuously propose scalability by developing eco-friendly pulp and paper products that can be applied in daily life."

Meanwhile, it is known that the development of this eco-friendly cushioning material was driven by Murim CEO Dokyun Lee's determination.
