Seodaemun-gu Creates Digital Media Space for Youth to Pursue Their Dreams
Hong Eun Youth Culture House, Hongje Youth Dreamdak, Sinchon Youth Agit, and 3 other locations... Supporting youth media content creation through facility provision and video editing education
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu District Office (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) has recently established three ‘digital media spaces’ for youth within the district, accelerating the transition to the digital era due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and social distancing measures.
These spaces support youth media content creation through facility provision and video editing education, and are located at ▲ Hong Eun Youth Culture House (110 Pobangteo-gil) ▲ Hongje Youth Activity Space ‘Kkumdarag’ (2nd floor, 114 Tongillo 39-gil) ▲ Sinchon Youth Hideout ‘Shwimpyo’ (444-2 Seongsan-ro).
In particular, the media room at Hong Eun Youth Culture House is equipped with large digital signage, VR filming cameras, and editing equipment.
Additionally, media professionals conduct media academies, media literacy education linked with schools, and youth village recording activities called ‘VRro VRhada (Village Record)’.
Among these, ‘VRro VRhada’ was selected in 2021 by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family’s youth program contest. It involves youth filming the disappearing urban landscapes and residents’ stories due to redevelopment using 360° VR equipment to preserve them as records.
Media content production spaces have also been established at Hongje Youth Activity Space ‘Kkumdarag’ and Sinchon Youth Hideout ‘Shwimpyo’, where education for nurturing youth creators will be conducted.
