Korea Yakult Transforms into Distribution Specialist Company (Hy Co., Ltd.)
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Since its founding in 1969, Korea Yakult has announced its first-ever name change and declared its leap forward as a distribution-specialized company expanding beyond food and beverages to logistics.
Korea Yakult announced on the 29th that it will change its name to ‘㈜hy’ and start anew.
㈜hy reflects the company’s intention to expand its business areas beyond the existing image limited to food and beverage companies. Through this, it plans to advance as a distribution-specialized company and build competitiveness for the next 100 years. It will focus on developing a new business model that adds a ‘logistics’ function to its core competency, the ‘refrigerated delivery network.’ By forming strategic alliances with other companies, it will expand product categories and accelerate the development of functional probiotic materials leading the microbiome era.
Korea Yakult also unveiled a new corporate identity (CI). The logo was designed inspired by vital signs. The four colors symbolize life, health, food, and probiotics, embodying the expanded meaning of health demanded by the times. The company plans to apply eco-friendly materials, expand social contribution activities, and practice ESG (environment, social, governance) management.
