This yellow dust originated from the Mongolian Plateau and surrounding areas starting on the 26th. It is expected to begin affecting the western sea islands of Korea on the night of the 28th and spread nationwide from the 29th.
The National Institute of Environmental Research predicted that the nationwide daily average concentration of fine dust (PM10) will exceed 150㎍/㎥ tomorrow, reaching a 'very bad' level. Accordingly, the Ministry of Environment issued the yellow dust crisis alert at the 'Interest' level for the affected regions.
With the issuance of the yellow dust crisis alert at the Interest level, the Ministry of Environment has formed a situation room to communicate the situation to related agencies and local governments, requesting them to respond according to the 'Yellow Dust Response Manual.'
