Send Gangnam-gu Traffic Violation Fine Notice via KakaoTalk AlimTalk
From April, KakaoTalk AlimTalk Notifications and STAX Integration Enable One-Stop Payment... Annual Budget Reduction Effect of 11 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will send traffic violation fine notices, which were previously delivered to taxpayers via paper registered mail, to smartphones starting in April.
The 'Mobile Electronic Notice Service' introduced by the district allows taxpayers with a smartphone registered under their name to receive notices via KakaoTalk AlimTalk without any separate application or app installation.
After receiving the mobile notice, taxpayers can pay the fine through a simple procedure linked to STAX (Seoul City Mobile Tax Payment App) following identity verification.
Advance notices, which provide traffic violators an opportunity to submit opinions beforehand, will also be sent via mobile to ensure that taxpayers do not miss the 20% discount benefit for timely payment.
If the notice is not received within 24 hours after the first alert, a second text message will be sent. Registered mail will not be sent to taxpayers who have confirmed the notice. However, if both messages remain unread, the existing paper notice will be sent.
The district expects that the introduction of the 'Mobile Electronic Notice Service' will reduce delays, misdelivery, and loss issues related to paper notices, alleviating concerns about additional fines and vehicle seizure.

Additionally, it is estimated that at least 11 million KRW in annual costs can be saved due to reduced production and delivery tasks. The cost of sending registered mail is 2,480 KRW per case, and delivery takes at least four days.
