On the 26th, Woori Bank announced that following the final approval of CEO Kwon's reappointment at the shareholders' meeting the previous day, he immediately visited the MyData development team working at the Woori Financial Digital Tower and the sales site in Segyo District, Osan, Gyeonggi Province, without any separate ceremony, encouraging employees through on-site management.
Since his inauguration in March last year, CEO Kwon has quickly stabilized the organization amid difficult internal and external conditions, including derivative-linked funds (DLF), the Lime incident, and the impact of COVID-19, and is recognized for leading Woori Bank's transformation by driving digital and channel innovation.
Setting this year's management goal as ‘Company-wide Digital Innovation, Leading the Digital Financial Market (Digital First, Digital Initiative),’ Woori Bank plans to accelerate its ‘Digital ABCD’ business centered on digital new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, cloud, and data under CEO Kwon's leadership. The first step of the preliminary startup growth program, the ‘On(On)Tact Hackathon Competition,’ is scheduled for April 30. The bank plans to support the entire startup process from technology development to entrepreneurship and investment.
