Ryu Geun-gwan, Commissioner of Statistics Korea, who took office last December, was not included in the regular asset change disclosure announced on this day. However, according to the March special asset disclosure list published in the official gazette on the 19th, Commissioner Ryu and his family reported total assets of 3,734,360,000 KRW. They own a detached house in Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul (1,180,000,000 KRW) jointly with his spouse, an officetel in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul (890,000,000 KRW) under his name, and 53,229㎡ of forest land in Cheongso-myeon, Boryeong-si, Chungnam (190,560,000 KRW), among others.
Kim Kwang-seop, Deputy Commissioner of Statistics Korea, reported assets totaling approximately 3,141,590,000 KRW, including land worth 152,490,000 KRW under the names of his spouse and father, an apartment in Seo-gu, Daejeon (445,000,000 KRW) jointly owned with his spouse, and neighborhood living facilities and commercial buildings in Jung-gu, Daegu under his spouse’s name. This is an increase of 295,830,000 KRW compared to one year ago.

Commissioner Kim is a "non-homeowner," holding a leasehold right (jeonse) worth approximately 340,000,000 KRW on a public rental housing unit in Jagok-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, jointly with his spouse. His reported amount includes his mother’s real estate and financial assets. Among senior officials of the National Tax Service, the wealthiest is Lim Seong-bin, Commissioner of the Busan Regional Tax Office, who reported a total of 6,165,510,000 KRW, combining an apartment in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, an office in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, and unlisted stocks (KB&Tex) totaling 10,950 shares.
