According to the Chungnam Fire Headquarters on the 24th, the fire occurred around 8:13 PM the previous day at the product warehouse building of Haitai Confectionery's 2nd factory located in Seonggeo-eup, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungnam.
After receiving the fire report, the fire authorities deployed 51 fire trucks and about 540 firefighters to the scene to carry out firefighting operations.
The large flames were brought under control around 11:33 PM on the day of the fire, and after finishing extinguishing remaining flames and cleanup work, the fire was completely extinguished around 6:28 AM on the 24th, according to the fire authorities.
There were no casualties caused by the fire. At the time of the fire, about 60 employees were working inside the factory, but they quickly evacuated, preventing any casualties.

The fire authorities believe the fire initially started in plastic materials outside the building and then spread to the factory warehouse. They are currently investigating the exact scale of the damage and the cause of the fire.
