White Man Sprays Urine on Asian Woman in Her 20s on New York Subway
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Amid a surge in hate crimes targeting Asian people in the United States, a recent incident occurred in the New York subway where a woman in her 20s of Asian descent was subjected to so-called 'urine attack' by a white man in his 60s.
According to 'Asian Feed,' a local New York information site, on the 20th at around 1:30 PM, a white man in his 60s approached Kathy Chen (25), who was riding the F line of the New York Metro subway, and suddenly urinated on her.
According to 'Asian Feed,' the man showed no change in expression while committing this act, and the victim, Chen, said she could not believe what had happened to her, saying, "Are you serious?"
Also, according to Chen's statement, although passengers nearby witnessed the situation, no one intervened or tried to stop it. Eventually, the man calmly got off the subway and disappeared. Chen considered catching and reporting the man but felt threatened and only took a photo of him with her phone.
According to Chen, the man was dressed entirely in black with a black ski cap, making identification uncertain, but he is known to be a white man in his 60s. Additionally, the man in the photo is wearing a top with a U.S. flag patch, raising suspicions that he might be an 'extreme right-wing white supremacist.'
