Namyang Dairy Products plans to contribute to the accumulation of national reference standard data over the next five years as the ‘National Food Composition Data Center’ through vitamin D analysis and database construction.
The National Food Composition Data Center is one of the data institutions under the National Reference Standard Centers that promote the development and utilization of data certified by the National Institute of Technology and Standards, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The National Institute of Agricultural Sciences is the representative institution, and Namyang Dairy Products Central Research Institute was selected as a joint cooperation institution.
Since it handles high-quality data certified by the nation, such as the ‘Food Nutrition Composition Table,’ it must possess not only professional knowledge and measurement technology but also specialized equipment necessary for data collection and processing to be selected as a data center. Typically, research institutes and hospitals have been selected as data centers, and Namyang Dairy Products Central Research Institute is the only private company selected as a National Food Composition Data Center.
Namyang Dairy Products Central Research Institute, an internationally accredited testing and certification institution, participated in the 2019 Vitamin D International Proficiency Testing and demonstrated its capability to be selected as a data center by achieving a ‘Z-Score’ indicator close to zero, the evaluation standard. It conducts tasks such as nutritional component analysis of vitamin D processed products and concentrated marine and agricultural raw materials.
