Activation of the Indie Music Ecosystem '2021 Seoul Live' Contest
Support of 220 Million KRW for 80 Teams in Two Categories: 'Indie Music D.I.Y Project' and 'Live Planned Performances'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seogyo Art Experiment Center of the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture announced on the 23rd that it will hold an open call for the '2021 Seoul Live' support project from the 26th of this month until the 12th of next month to revitalize Hongdae indie music through discovering various project performances.
Since 2019, 2021 Seoul Live has been a project promoted by the Seogyo Art Experiment Center together with the 'Seoul Live Promotion Team,' composed of experts from the indie scene. It has supported various activities targeting all members of the indie music ecosystem, including indie musicians, planners, engineers, and fans as consumers. The support scale covers two fields: 'Indie Music D.I.Y Project' and 'Live Planned Performances,' providing a total of 220 million KRW to about 80 teams.
The 'Indie Music D.I.Y Project,' which supports various ideas related to indie music, targets various content production projects related to the activities of indie musicians who have officially released music. A total of 40 projects will be supported with 2.5 million KRW each.
The 'Live Planned Performances,' which supports active exchange performances in the indie scene, supports small-scale performances involving one or more musicians at venues located in Seoul equipped with professional equipment and with performance experience. Musicians participating in the performances can be domestic or international, and a total of 40 projects will be supported with 3 million KRW each.
