Appointment of New Members to Jongno Sarang Women's Nuri Group... Monitoring Key Projects from a Female Perspective
Time to Present Appointment Certificates to 6 Newly Selected Members This Year... Activities Conducted in 7 Divisions Including 'Administration' and 'Sustainability' with Biannual Participation in Key Project Evaluations
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jongno-gu (Mayor Kim Young-jong) held the 'Jongno Love Women Nuri Group Appointment Ceremony' on the 16th at the district office multipurpose room, spending time with six newly selected members this year.
The 'Jongno Love Women Nuri Group,' consisting of 50 women residing in the area, was first formed in 2008 and has since monitored major district projects in detail from a female perspective, offering various opinions and improvement plans regarding inconveniences in daily life.
The Women Nuri Group conducts evaluation activities across seven subcommittees: ▲Administration ▲Sustainability ▲Culture and Tourism ▲Welfare and Economy ▲Urban Management ▲Construction and Transportation ▲Health and Medical Care, participating twice a year (first and second half) in evaluations of key district projects.
Last year, despite difficulties in face-to-face activities due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, members individually divided the region and inspected the management status of 169 locations designated as priority areas for illegal dumping.
Additionally, after evaluations, they proposed innovative ideas tailored to each area's situation, such as installing CCTV and signboards to eradicate illegal dumping and creating pocket gardens.
Jongno-gu is planning and implementing measures to create a cleaner community by reflecting the Women Nuri Group's inspection results and suggestions evenly.
This year, despite ongoing restrictions on activities due to COVID-19, the district plans to discover key projects closely related to residents' lives and conduct evaluations focusing on content that individuals can participate in.
