[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is recruiting participants for the "2021 Dobong-gu Youth Startup Education and Idea Competition" from March 22 to April 16 to enhance the entrepreneurial capabilities of local youth and support actual startups.
The recruitment target is 30 youth prospective entrepreneurs or early-stage entrepreneurs within one year of startup, aged 19 to 39 (teams).
Any youth with innovative startup ideas can apply, but the district plans to prioritize those residing in Dobong-gu, students (including those on leave) attending schools in Dobong-gu, or workers based in Dobong-gu.
The startup education will be conducted online from May 6 to June 24, and participation is free of charge.
Applicants can download the application form from the Dobong-gu Office website (Announcements-Budget - Event Recruitment) and submit it via email (prkrt@naver.com or tyeonk@dobong.go.kr).
The education program is divided into prospective entrepreneurs (Course A) and early-stage entrepreneurs within one year (Course B), offering elective education according to the stage of startup development.
The prospective entrepreneur course covers ▲understanding design thinking ▲understanding business models, focusing on concretizing startup ideas and finalizing items, while the early-stage entrepreneur course includes ▲business feasibility analysis ▲fundraising practical skills ▲intellectual property practical skills ▲tax practical skills, providing practical knowledge for commercialization.
Teams that successfully complete the 8-week education will receive a certificate of completion and qualify to participate in the idea competition. Participating teams will also receive close coaching from a team of professional dedicated mentors.
The district plans to select the final three teams at the competition to be held in August at Changdong Aureune (Seoul Startup Hub) auditorium. Selected teams will receive support such as ▲prototype production costs (100,000 KRW for the grand prize, 50,000 KRW each for two excellence awards) ▲professional management consulting ▲priority admission to youth startup incubating spaces, providing follow-up support that can lead to actual startups.
