Jungjinkong-SK Telecom-KASAD Collaborate to Promote SME Data Utilization and Smart Factory Activation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] On the 19th, the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) signed a business agreement at SparkPlus in Seocho-gu, Seoul with SK Telecom and the Korea Smart Factory Data Association (KASAD) to promote the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The three organizations agreed to join forces to utilize manufacturing data and revitalize smart factories for the growth of SMEs.
First, SBC will form a supplier alliance to resolve operational difficulties faced by companies adopting smart factories. The alliance will include smart factory solution suppliers, data collection device manufacturers, and data utilization software companies centered around an advisory committee. SK Telecom and KASAD will also participate.
Through this agreement, the three organizations will promote a "Facility Operation Optimization Pilot Project" that provides data collection devices and real-time equipment monitoring systems free of charge for one year to companies adopting smart factories.
SBC will recruit and select demand companies mainly among policy fund recipients and companies supported for smart factory post-management. KASAD will discover demand through its members, provide data collection devices free of charge, and offer consulting on technical difficulties related to smart factories and ICT.
SK Telecom will provide its cloud-based smart factory AI subscription service, "Metatron Grandview," free of charge for one year. It will also offer real-time monitoring of equipment data, equipment anomaly alerts, and database functions for equipment maintenance records.
Choi Nak-hoon, head of SK Telecom's Smart Factory Company, said, "We will reduce cost burdens by providing smart factory solutions free of charge to manufacturing companies struggling due to COVID-19," adding, "We will lead manufacturing innovation in SMEs through the convergence of advanced ICT technology and traditional manufacturing technology."
