Fire at Two-Story House in Garibong-dong, Seoul... 70-Year-Old Elderly Person Dies
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] A fire broke out in a two-story multi-family house in Garibong-dong, Guro-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of a man in his 70s.
According to the police and fire authorities on the 18th, the fire occurred at around 4:49 PM, completely burning down the second floor of the building. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes by the responding fire department, but the man in his 70s who lived there died. Residents on the first floor had evacuated, so there were no additional casualties.
The deceased man was a basic livelihood security recipient who had lived alone in the building for about 10 years. It was reported that he had difficulty walking and hearing problems.
