U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken is arriving on the afternoon of the 17th through Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province. This marks the first face-to-face meeting between the heads of diplomacy and security of South Korea and the United States since the inauguration of the Biden administration. They are expected to discuss key issues including the North Korean nuclear problem, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, trilateral cooperation among South Korea, the U.S., and Japan, and the transfer of wartime operational control.
