Establishment of Yongsan-gu Smart Safety Management System
Ministry of the Interior and Safety Selected for 'Digital-Based Safety Management System for Aging and Hazardous Facilities' Project... Secures 800 Million KRW National Funding with 1 Billion KRW Matching... IoT Sensors Installed at 135 Hazardous Facilities for Integrated Monitoring
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yongsan-gu (Mayor Seongjang Hyun) has been selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's 'Digital-Based Safety Management System for Aging and Hazardous Facilities Construction Project' and secured 800 million KRW in national funding.
The district will invest a total of 1.8 billion KRW, including 1 billion KRW of district funds, to build a digital-based safety management system for aging and hazardous facilities focusing on 135 high-risk facilities by the end of this year.
The digital-based safety management system for aging and hazardous facilities refers to a system that integrates facility management and predicts and prevents accident risks using digital technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) sensors.
IoT measurement sensors will be installed on bridges, pedestrian overpasses, underground roads, retaining walls, stone walls, and other aging buildings to measure real-time vibration, temperature, cracks, tilt, and more.
The district can detect warning signs through big data analysis of the measured values.
The sensor installation targets include ▲public facilities with safety grade B or below ▲private facilities with safety grade C or below ▲small aging buildings requiring repair and reinforcement based on safety inspection results, with plans to continuously expand the targets.
For private facilities, sensors will be installed after obtaining prior consent from the owners.
Subsequently, the district will establish a smart safety management system to view and manage facility measurement information and analysis results, and to comprehensively monitor various facility statuses, histories, and safety inspection results.
The district's smart safety management system can also be linked with the existing Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Geographic Information System (GIS) integrated management system and the district control center's closed-circuit television (CCTV).
A mobile service will also be provided to enable public officials to easily utilize the system.
Through this project, the district expects that facility management departments, related public officials, and control center personnel will be able to identify signs of facility collapse and significantly prevent accidents.
