Jangseong-gun to Disburse 4.5 Billion Won Early for 'Farmer and Fisherman Public Interest Allowance'
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) will provide early full payment of 4.5 billion KRW in agricultural and fishery public service allowances to 7,561 local farmers and fishermen.
According to the county on the 15th, the county originally planned to pay the agricultural and fishery public service allowance in two installments, first and second half of the year, but decided to pay the full amount of 600,000 KRW within this month to stabilize the livelihoods of farmers and fishermen struggling due to COVID-19 and to revitalize the local economy.
Earlier, on the 10th, the county held a review committee meeting for the agricultural and fishery public service allowance, thoroughly verifying addresses, agricultural management entity registration, actual residence, duplicate applications, income requirements, and finalized the list of recipients.
Eligibility can be confirmed at the administrative welfare centers in each town and township of the registered address, and payments will be made using Jangseong Love Gift Certificates starting today.
To practice social distancing, payments will be distributed by village and time slot.
Farmers and fishermen who missed the application period can apply additionally at the administrative welfare centers in their towns and townships between the 29th of this month and the 9th of next month.

Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “Following the payment of disaster relief funds to all residents, the payment of the agricultural and fishery public service allowance will further stimulate consumption activities within the region,” and added, “I hope this early payment will be a great help not only to farmers and fishermen but also to traditional markets, small business owners, and self-employed people in the area.”
