Gwangju University Soccer Team Parents Donate 200,000 Masks to Celebrate Victory
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju University announced on the 14th that Lee Sang-hoon, CEO of Hyundai Coretech and father of soccer team member Lee Kang-won, donated 200,000 medical masks to the school.
Last October, Lee also delivered sports equipment worth 15 million won and 9,600 masks as a token of apology and gratitude when his son, who was active in the soccer team, temporarily left his teammates to enlist in the military.
This mask donation was made by Lee to commemorate the soccer team’s victory in the 57th Spring College Soccer Federation Championship and was given to the school with a request to use them so that all enrolled students can safely focus on their studies.
The donated masks are planned to be distributed to students living in the school dormitories and those attending classes.
Lee said, “I wanted to help not only the athletes but all enrolled students to safely concentrate on their studies. Moreover, I sincerely want to congratulate my enlisted son and his friends who have been sweating through training on their victory in the national competition.”
