Gangnam-gu Operates 2021 'Monthly Humanities with Themes' Book Concert... YouTube Event on the 30th 'Remembering Park Wan-seo'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will continue to hold the monthly themed humanities book concert once a month starting this month, an event that has been conducted since 2019 to cultivate civic awareness through the popularization of the humanities.
The monthly humanities event will invite popular authors such as Kim Hana, Kim Geum-hee, Park Sang-young (March), Kim Jin-myung (April), Lee Si-hyung, Park Sang-mi (June), Oh Eun-young (July), Tyler Rasch (August), Lim Hong-taek (September), Chae Sajang (October), and Kim Jung-hyuk (November) at the beginning of each month. The book concerts will be held in various formats including lectures, performances, and discussions, each with a different theme.
First, on the 30th of this month, the event titled "Pleasure Book Talk of Writers 2: Remembering Park Wan-seo" will be live-streamed on YouTube from Yeoksam Library, hosted by Kim Hana, the author and host of the podcast "Book Reading Out".
Authors Kim Geum-hee and Park Sang-young will discuss the life and works of Park Wan-seo, focusing on her books such as "Namok" and "Who Ate All the Singa?"
All events will be conducted live every month through the Gangnam-gu Public Library YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, Gangnam-gu has been making efforts to foster a city culture of reading books, having been selected as an excellent local government and awarded the Chairman's Special Prize by the Presidential Library and Information Policy Committee in the "National Library Operation Evaluation" last November, competing among 2,309 libraries nationwide.
