H2KOREA Opens 'Hydrogen Innovation Desk' to Foster Hydrogen Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] The Hydrogen Convergence Alliance Promotion Group (H2KOREA) announced on the 12th that it held an opening ceremony for the 'Hydrogen Innovation Desk,' aimed at supporting private investment management systems and fostering hydrogen-specialized companies, following the results of the 3rd Hydrogen Economy Committee meeting.
About 15 people attended the opening ceremony, including Joo Young-jun, Director General of the Energy Resources Office at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Moon Jae-do, Chairman of H2KOREA, and Moon Il, Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Yonsei University.
Previously, the government announced plans for fostering hydrogen-specialized companies, private investment plans, and government support measures at the 1st and 3rd Hydrogen Economy Committee meetings. Specifically, it decided to nurture 500 hydrogen-specialized companies by 2030 and 1,000 by 2040, with approximately 43 trillion KRW in private investment from domestic large corporations, small and medium enterprises, and mid-sized companies by 2030.
H2KOREA is guiding the domestic industry on the hydrogen-specialized company verification system and implementation plan based on Article 2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Hydrogen Act, which coincides with the enforcement of the Hydrogen Act, and is currently recruiting companies wishing to be verified as hydrogen-specialized companies.
Through the Hydrogen Innovation Desk, which began operation today, H2KOREA will support government policy assistance for private investment plans and address on-site difficulties faced by specialized companies. It will also provide support such as technology and management consulting, prototype production, certification acquisition, brand development, and publicity strategy establishment to help the domestic hydrogen economy industry secure global competitiveness.
Moon Jae-do, Chairman of H2KOREA, said, "Hydrogen-specialized companies are the hope and future of South Korea's hydrogen economy," adding, "The newly opened Hydrogen Innovation Desk will fully demonstrate its role and capabilities as a comprehensive control tower for fostering hydrogen-specialized companies, concentrating all efforts to enable more companies to participate in creating the hydrogen economy ecosystem."
