On the morning of the 12th, Hong stated on Facebook, "The Democratic Party of Korea proposed conducting a full-scale investigation into real estate speculation involving all 300 members of the National Assembly," adding, "This is something the Democratic Party is doing very well, and I absolutely support it."
He continued, "I promise to resign from my position as a lawmaker if allegations of real estate speculation are not proven. Let's conduct a full-scale investigation into real estate speculation by all public officials, including members of the National Assembly, metropolitan government heads, minister-level officials and above, and first-level staff at the Blue House," and insisted, "Let's start with the members of the National Assembly as the first step."
