'Allegations of Sexual Harassment Against Fellow Female Officer During "Recruitment Exam Question Preparation Camp"... Active Coast Guard Officer Suspended'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] A current Coast Guard officer has been suspended from duty on suspicion of sexually harassing female colleagues during a training camp held to prepare questions for the Coast Guard public recruitment exam.
The Korea Coast Guard announced on the 10th that Officer A, who is suspected of harassment, has been suspended from duty.
Officer A is suspected of repeatedly harassing female colleagues at a building within the Coast Guard Research Center in Cheonan, Chungnam Province, over 11 days from the 18th to the 28th of last month.
All of them were reportedly staying together for more than ten days to prepare questions for the "2020 3rd Coast Guard Public Official Recruitment Exam." Officer A denied the allegations, stating that it was an expression of friendliness and there was no intent to harass.
