[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] KT announced on the 10th that it signed a business agreement with the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters on the 9th to develop and pilot an Artificial Intelligence (AI) 119 Report Reception System.
The AI 119 Report Reception System, developed using KT's AI voicebot technology, will have AI initially assess situations when 119 calls surge due to large-scale disasters. At this time, the AI will automatically identify the content of the report, directing emergency situations to the 119 control center and simple civil complaints to the government civil complaint information call center (110).
Until now, when an excessive number of calls were made to the 119 control center during large-scale disasters, urgent incidents were sometimes not reported in time. For example, the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters experienced difficulties such as delays in processing reports and dispatches due to a surge in calls during the heavy rain in the Busan area on July 23 last year. Accordingly, the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters expects that the introduction of the AI 119 Report Reception System will enable prompt response and reduce casualties.
The AI 119 Report Reception System to be developed this time will be built on KT's public institution-exclusive cloud, G-Cloud, providing excellent security. It plans to build a language model through local voice learning, including the Busan dialect, and enhance the performance of the AI engine.
