Jack Dorsey "If the world's first tweet sells for 2.8 billion, I will donate in Bitcoin"
Jack Dorsey, Twitter Founder, Reveals Details
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] The world's first tweet is expected to be sold for at least $2.5 million (about 2.8 billion KRW) and donated in Bitcoin.
According to CNBC on the 9th (local time), Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, announced that once the auction for his first tweet ends, he will convert the proceeds into Bitcoin and donate it to charity.
Dorsey's tweet, "just setting up my twttr," which he put up for auction, is famous as the very first tweet ever.
Dorsey attached the meaning of being the only 'authentic' original by including a blockchain-based digital certificate NFT (Non-fungible token) with this tweet.
Currently, the tweet has not seen any higher bids after Sina Estavi, CEO of Bridge Oracle, placed a bid of $2.5 million.
Dorsey stated that the auction will end on the 21st, and the proceeds will be immediately converted into Bitcoin and donated to the Africa Response Fund of the charity GiveDirectly.
