View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, reflected on his six-month tenure as party leader on the 9th, stating, "It was truly an honor to serve as party leader."
On the morning of the same day, Lee posted on Facebook, "Like all experiences, whether the experience as party leader went well or not, it will be a great asset in my future life," expressing his thoughts.
He said, "From now on, wherever I am and whatever I do, I will fulfill my role and responsibility for the success of the Moon Jae-in administration and the development of the Republic of Korea," emphasizing, "First, I will do my best to win the April 7 by-elections."
He continued, "At the same time, I will prepare a future vision for Korea to become a 'world-leading country where we live well together' in the post-COVID-19 era," and asked for "much support and encouragement."
Looking back on his time as party leader, Lee said, "Although the period I served as leader was short, many things happened," and reflected, "We established the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO), reformed the prosecution, police, and National Intelligence Service, and passed the three Fair Economy Acts?achievements that previous governments, especially Democratic Party governments, had not accomplished for decades."

He added, "I feel the greatest pride in resolving long-standing social issues," and "Above all, this was possible because the Democratic Party won an overwhelming number of seats in last year's general election by the choice of the people and party members.
