Gwangju Seo-gu Begins 'Daga-chi Playground Construction Project' at Naebang Children's Park
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) announced on the 8th that it will officially begin the ‘Daga-chi Playground Construction Project’ at Naebang Children's Park located in Hwajeong 1-dong.
The ‘Daga-chi Playground Construction Project’ is a project to renovate aging children's parks by having local residents directly participate in identifying problems and seeking solutions to reconstruct the park.
It is a resident-participation type project aimed at creating a space where all members of the community can empathize, communicate, and harmonize.
Last year, the Hwajeong 1-dong Residents' Council, consisting of 12 residents, held six meetings to select the park development theme and discuss various plans to revitalize the park.
Additionally, to make Hwajeong 1-dong’s only park more valuable, they planned to create an adventure playground and a slope playground that stimulate children's imagination, a resident communication space, and a resting area.
The goal is to create a community space that all residents, from children to adults, can enjoy.
Seo-gu is also currently gathering opinions from the residents' council, local children, and persons with disabilities to carry out the ‘Daga-chi Playground Construction Project’ at Punggeum Children's Park located in Geumho 1-dong.
