Wavelabs Obtains Korea's First Venture Certification for Drone Wireless Communication Equipment "Full-Scale Domestic and International Supply"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] WaveLabs announced on the 25th that it has received venture company certification as a research and development company after undergoing a technology evaluation for drone RF wireless communication technology from the Korea Technology Finance Corporation.
WaveLabs obtained KC certification last October for the country's first 2.4 GHz wireless communication module for drone mounting. This technology is rare overseas as well, with only two companies in the United States and one company in Canada possessing similar technology. Currently, WaveLabs supplies this technology to Doosan Mobility Innovation.
The company explained that through this venture company certification, it is the only domestic company recognized for its technological capabilities related to drone RF wireless communication.
The 2.4 GHz wireless communication module developed by WaveLabs enables drone flight even under the worst conditions such as adverse weather, and its excellence has been verified through testing. Following Doosan Mobility Innovation in March, it plans to supply wireless communication modules to the domestic drone market.
Additionally, WaveLabs' wireless communication module has already obtained certifications including the US FCC, European CE, and Australian RCM, which is expected to accelerate its entry into the global market.
Furthermore, WaveLabs plans to develop a 5.8 GHz wireless communication module capable of transmitting real-time video captured by drones. The 5.8 GHz module is a next-generation drone communication module produced by only a few companies overseas, capable of transmitting data exceeding 1M byte per second. It allows real-time monitoring of video captured by drones, enabling security control, surveillance, fire prevention, and accident prevention, thus attracting attention as advanced technology.

A company representative stated, “As regulations in the domestic drone market are gradually easing, flight times are also increasing. Based on this, the RF wireless communication module market is expected to grow rapidly, and demand for WaveLabs' RF wireless communication modules is anticipated to increase.”
