Uljin-gun Provides Compensation for 'Rice Seedlings' ... 5,300 Won per Bag
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 24th that it will support the difference compensation for the supply price of 'government-distributed rice seeds' again this year, following last year.
The government-distributed rice seeds supplied to Uljin-gun this year are three varieties: Haedam, Samgwang, and Baekokchal, totaling 90,480 kg (4,524 bags). The full amount of the difference support cost, funded entirely by the county, is 24 million KRW, which is 5,300 KRW per 20 kg (one bag).
The supply price for 2020-distributed seeds is 49,170 KRW for non-treated Japonica rice and 50,950 KRW for non-treated glutinous rice. After deducting the difference compensation of 5,300 KRW from the supply price, farmers can receive government-distributed rice seeds through NongHyup.

Jeon Eun-woo, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "With the difference compensation for government-distributed rice seeds again this year, rice farmers in the area will be able to reduce their operating costs," and added, "We will continue to expand the supply of pure and superior seed varieties and strive for the production of high-quality rice."
