The Rural New Vitality Plus Project, selected last year, is awaiting basic plan approval from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. This year, with a budget of 2.1 billion KRW, the old Hwangsan High School will be remodeled into a project promotion center, and an ecological agriculture base farm will be operated, marking the full-scale launch of the project.
The Hwangsan-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project and Samsan Duryun Regional Comprehensive Development Project will complete all works this year. Hwangsan-myeon plans to finish the project by completing the construction of the residents' autonomy center last April, followed by the creation of the entrance road and parking lot for the 5-day market, and the expansion of public restrooms.
The Samsan Duryun Regional Comprehensive Development Project aims to complete the expansion of basic living infrastructure such as communal living homes and the Duryun Harmony Center, as well as landscape improvement projects including the Samsan Three-Color Healing Trail and the Millennium Forest Old Path maintenance by the first half of the year.
The rural area development projects in Munnae-myeon are also gaining momentum. The basic plan approved this year for the Munnae-myeon Basic Living Hub Development Project includes the construction of a multipurpose hall and a multipurpose sports ground. The Munnae Usuyeong Regional Comprehensive Development Project will focus on improving core infrastructure such as the Usuyeong Cultural Street and developing surrounding villages to build basic living infrastructure aimed at enhancing residents' quality of life.
The Rural and Fishing Village Vulnerable Area Living Condition Renovation Project was selected last year for Munnae Yerak and Hwasan Gwandong through a public contest and is currently about to start detailed design. Over four years, with a total project cost of 2 billion KRW, it plans to improve basic living standards through customized support that meets residents' needs, including housing maintenance, improvement of living and sanitation infrastructure, and expansion of safety facilities.
The Village Making Project, aimed at enhancing rural residents' convenience facilities and strengthening community capabilities, has been completed in seven villages including Hyeonsan Choho, Okcheon Dorim, and Bukil Naedong, while 11 villages such as Haenam-eup Sinan, Gyegok Gangjeol, and Masan Yukilsi are currently undergoing the project.
Four villages newly selected this year, including Haenam Andong and Bukil Samsung, will proceed with the project over three years until 2023, starting with the basic plan.
