Gyeongsan-si Finalizes Design Plan for Southeast Region Welfare Facility 'Jain Senior Welfare Center'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 22nd that it selected the joint submission by Dioen Architects Office and Architects Office 'Seoroga' as the winning entry in the design competition for the construction of the Jain Senior Welfare Center, held at City Hall on the 16th.
The judging committee, composed of experts in architectural planning, design, structure, construction, and landscape, evaluated the entries focusing on harmony with the surrounding environment, layout planning, spatial planning, technical planning, and eco-friendly and energy efficiency plans.
As a result of the evaluation, the winning design received high marks for its layout plan that appropriately utilized the existing terrain levels, excellent entrance plan that preserved the natural landscape and connected with the surrounding space, eco-friendly design proposal utilizing the slope, and the proposal of independence by use and function along with organic spatial connectivity.
The Jain Senior Welfare Center is planned to be constructed with a total project cost of 12 billion KRW, covering a total floor area of 3,409㎡ with one basement floor and three above-ground floors.

Mayor Youngjo Choi stated, "We plan to complete the detailed design reflecting the design intent faithfully by October this year," and added, "We will expand senior welfare facilities, which are lacking in the southeastern region, to provide balanced welfare benefits."
