Two COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Gwangju Area as of 6 PM on the 19th

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 19th at 6 PM that 2 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in one day.
The total cumulative confirmed cases in the Gwangju area increased to 1,976.
Case number 1975 was confirmed to have had contact with Jeonnam case number 801, who resides in Muan-gun. Jeonnam case number 801 is a family member of Jeonnam case number 797, whose infection route is unknown.
Case number 1976 is an imported case, having entered from the Philippines.
Among the 1,976 confirmed cases that have occurred in Gwangju so far, 1,855 are local infections and 121 are overseas entrants.

Since the first confirmed case on February 3 of last year, a total of 616,418 people have undergone COVID-19 diagnostic testing, with 609,707 testing negative. Currently, 4,735 people are awaiting test results.
