Gokseong-gun, Youth Support System for a Healthy Population Structure Progressing Smoothly
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 19th that it has kicked off this year's youth policy initiatives aimed at achieving a healthy population structure.
On the 18th, a report meeting on this year's Youth Growth Support System promotion plan was held at the Communication Maru of Gokseong County Office.
The meeting, chaired by Governor Yoo Geun-gi, was attended by 16 members including the Youth Development Committee members and heads of youth-related departments, engaging in heated discussions.
The report meeting began with reports from the heads of relevant departments on this year's youth project promotion plans.
The Youth Development Committee members provided feedback on the overall projects and proposed policies such as establishing systems to strengthen connectivity among various projects.
In particular, this year, nine new projects were identified and planned for promotion, including youth community support, local youth talent recruitment projects, and marriage congratulatory funds for young couples.
Attendees offered diverse opinions to ensure the success of the projects and sought the best implementation strategies.
Gokseong-gun faces a situation where the elderly population aged 65 and over accounts for 36.4% of the total, intensifying the imbalance in the economically active population.
The Youth Growth Support System is a collaborative meeting body operated by Gokseong-gun since 2019 to continuously discover solutions to such issues.
Currently, 40 youth-related projects across four major areas?Youth Boost, Youth Fulfillment, Youth Enjoyment, and Youth Farmer Identity?are being systematically and effectively promoted through interdepartmental collaboration.

A county official stated, “We will make this year the inaugural year toward a young and healthy population structure. Although resources are limited, we will thoroughly review all policies to concretize Gokseong as a place where youth want to live.”
