[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seocho District Council (Chairperson Kim Ansook) held the inauguration ceremony of the council member research group ‘Seocho Future Policy Research Association’ on the 16th.
The ‘Seocho Future Policy Research Association’ is a research group consisting of nine Seocho District Council members who share a commitment to policy research designing the future of Seocho District. Council member Ko Kwangmin will serve as president, and Council member Park Mihyo will take on the role of secretary-general to lead the group.
Previously, the Seocho District Council was recognized for laying the foundation of a learning council and establishing a progressive image for residents through the activities of the ‘Seocho Autonomous Ordinance Research Association’ in the first half of the term.
Continuing this purpose, the newly launched ‘Seocho Future Policy Research Association’ plans to conduct field-oriented activities based on the expertise and capabilities of its members, including policy research to design the future of Seocho District and the establishment of a systematic and efficient operational system for autonomous ordinances.
Council member Ko Kwangmin, who will lead the Seocho Future Policy Research Association, emphasized, “In a democratic society, there exist various different ‘perspectives.’ Healthy democracy, as I see it, is about checking the biases of others through my perspective and correcting my own biases through theirs. Through this process, we can narrow the differences in perspectives and reach a consensus that everyone can accept.” He added, “I will devote myself to proper policy research for residents beyond political ideologies. Through a field-centered research group, practical research projects, and systematic educational composition, I will do my best to develop the council member research group one step further,” expressing his thoughts at the inauguration ceremony.
