Suncheon-si to Launch Full-Scale Mobile Agricultural Machinery Repair Service Starting Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 17th that starting from next month on the 2nd in Yudong Village, Seungju-eup, it will conduct mobile agricultural machinery repairs by visiting rural sites during the full-scale farming season.
The mobile agricultural machinery repair service has been conducted annually to resolve inconveniences caused by machinery breakdowns for farmers in remote villages where repairs are difficult. This year, from next month until November, it will visit 176 villages directly over 88 sessions.
The mobile repair team not only repairs agricultural machinery but also provides education on proper usage, inspection, emergency treatment in case of breakdowns, storage methods, and overall machinery management and safety training.
In particular, next month, Jeollanam-do and Suncheon City will collaborate to carry out mobile repairs targeting Yongneung Village in Nagan-myeon, Sincheon Village in Byeollyang-myeon, and Chogok Village in Sangsa-myeon.
The main machinery repaired includes small agricultural machines such as tillers, cultivators, and brush cutters, with parts priced under 50,000 KRW per machine model being repaired free of charge.
The city expects that this mobile repair service will alleviate farmers' inconveniences caused by machinery breakdowns and contribute to preventing agricultural machinery safety accidents.
A Suncheon City official stated, “We notify the respective villages and eup/myeon offices one week before each monthly mobile repair schedule to promote the service so that many farmers can benefit from the repairs.” He added, “Since this is an opportunity not only for simple repairs but also to learn proper usage and maintenance methods, we encourage active participation from farmers.”
