Gwangyang Port Hinterland Complex Tenant Companies Association Appoints Ham Hyung-rae, CEO of Jeil Logis, as New Chairman
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The board of directors of the Gwangyang Port Hinterland Complex Resident Companies Association announced on the 17th that they have appointed Ham Hyung-rae (CEO of Jeil Logistics) as the new chairman.
The association explained that at the board meeting held the previous day, Ham Hyung-rae was appointed as the 2nd chairman, and three new directors were also appointed, thereby enhancing the completeness of the organizational structure.
Chairman Ham is known to have played a significant role in leading a smooth agreement during last year's Cargo Solidarity strike while serving as the chairman of the emergency committee representing resident companies, earning strong trust from the resident companies.
In particular, he demonstrated strong leadership by actively involving major companies such as Dongwon Loex, LogisAll, Steinbeck, and solid logistics firms like Seojin Logitec in the new board of directors, receiving high evaluations from member companies.
Chairman Ham stated, “It is true that the Gwangyang Port container terminal has been in a long-term slump and has not received active support from the government, but there are still opportunities for development such as the construction of automated terminals and expansion of the hinterland industrial complex. The role of the Hinterland Complex Association is to externally promote various discussions among local politics, institutions, and organizations to secure government support, and internally to focus on policy development and implementation to improve logistics services, which is the biggest challenge for Gwangyang Port.” He outlined his future activity goals.
