Yeosu City Council Member Donates Emergency Disaster Relief Funds to Constituency Chungmu-dong
Donation of 300,000 KRW Cash and Disaster Relief Prepaid Cards for Underprivileged Groups and Small Business Owners
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Chungmu-dong in Yeosu City announced on the 16th that Yeosu City Council members Kim Young-gyu, Lee Sang-woo, Song Jae-hyang, and Kang Hyun-tae, who are from the local area, donated emergency disaster relief funds on the 8th to support small business owners and vulnerable groups in Chungmu-dong who are going through difficult times due to COVID-19.
In celebration of the Lunar New Year, the four city council members visited the Chungmu-dong Community Center and delivered a total of 300,000 KRW to the center, consisting of 50,000 KRW in cash and 250,000 KRW in disaster relief prepaid cards.
This initiative was promoted with the intention that Yeosu City Council members take the lead in sharing the pain of citizens struggling due to COVID-19 and revitalizing the local economy, which has been stagnant.
Chungmu-dong purchased goods from small local stores within the district and delivered them as Lunar New Year consolation gifts to underprivileged households.
Council member Lee Sang-woo stated, “I hope that this donation can be of some help to the citizens of Yeosu during these difficult times.”
