Hampyeong-gun Supports Early Retirement of Old Diesel Vehicles and New LPG Cargo Truck Purchases
A Total of 375 Units Supported with 660 Million Won Invested This Year
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeollanam-do Hampyeong-gun announced on the 16th that it will carry out an early retirement program for old diesel vehicles and support the purchase of new LPG cargo vehicles.
To this end, the county will invest 660 million KRW this year to support the early retirement of 350 old diesel vehicles and the purchase of 25 new LPG cargo vehicles.
The vehicles eligible for early retirement support are diesel vehicles with emission grade 5 and road-use type 3 construction machinery (dump trucks, concrete mixer trucks, concrete pump trucks) manufactured before 2005 under the emission standards.
Whether a diesel vehicle is classified as emission grade 5 can be checked on the Ministry of Environment or the automobile emission grade system website.
Applicants must have been registered in Hampyeong-gun for more than six months, have owned the vehicle for more than six months, and the vehicle must have passed the automobile functional inspection and be operable.
The support amount is up to 3 million KRW for vehicles with a gross weight under 3.5 tons, and up to 40 million KRW for vehicles with a gross weight of 3.5 tons or more, or dump trucks, concrete mixer trucks, and concrete pump trucks.
However, for emission grade 5 old diesel vehicles under 3.5 tons that cannot be equipped with emission reduction devices, or vehicles owned by livelihood operators, commercial use, or small business owners, the early retirement support limit has been increased from the original 3 million KRW to 6 million KRW.
In particular, when purchasing a new LPG 1-ton cargo vehicle after scrapping a diesel vehicle, 4 million KRW per vehicle will be supported.
