Hanwha Aerospace Ranks 5th Globally and 1st in Asia in Defense Industry Anti-Corruption Index Evaluation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 16th that it ranked 5th overall and 1st among Asian companies in the anti-corruption index evaluation of 134 defense companies in 38 countries worldwide, recently released by Transparency International (TI).
TI evaluates the anti-corruption policy level and transparency of defense companies in each country across 10 areas, grading them from A to F in six levels. A means 'Very High', B means 'High', C means 'Moderate', D means 'Limited', E means 'Low', and F means 'Very Low'. Two companies, Italy's Leonardo and the United States' Raytheon, received an A grade, and 14 companies including Hanwha Aerospace were classified as B grade. B grade or higher corresponds to the top 12% of the evaluated companies.
Hanwha Aerospace stated that after separately analyzing the individual scores of the evaluated companies, it ranked within the top 5 overall. In particular, it explained that it received the highest score in the leadership and organizational culture category, which evaluates the top management's commitment to anti-corruption, related regulations, and management responsibility levels. In addition, it earned high scores through transparent and fair partner selection, compliance with integrity and anti-corruption regulations, and operation of internal whistleblower protection systems.
