Fire in Semi-basement of Multi-family House in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul... 2 Dead
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A fire broke out in a semi-basement of a multi-family house located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, resulting in the deaths of two people.
According to the fire authorities on the 16th, the fire occurred around 1:50 a.m. in the semi-basement of a three-story multi-family house in Junggok-dong, Gwangjin-gu, and was extinguished in about 20 minutes. Due to the fire, an 89-year-old woman, A, who lived in the semi-basement house, suffered burns and inhaled smoke, dying at the scene. Her husband, Mr. B (91), also died while being transported to the hospital.
About 20 residents of the multi-family house temporarily evacuated, but since the fire did not spread to other units, no additional damage occurred.
