South Korea-Japan Senior Nuclear Envoys Discuss Trilateral Cooperation via Phone Call
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Senior representatives of the South Korea-Japan Six-Party Talks on North Korea's nuclear issue discussed measures for cooperation on North Korea.
On the afternoon of the 15th, Noh Kyu-duk, Director General for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a phone consultation with Takehiro Funakoshi, Director of the Asia and Oceania Bureau at Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regarding the South Korea-Japan senior representatives on North Korea's nuclear issue, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
Both sides shared recent assessments of the situation on the Korean Peninsula and exchanged views on cooperation measures between South Korea and Japan, as well as trilateral cooperation among South Korea, the United States, and Japan, to steadily manage the current situation and make progress toward the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of lasting peace.
