Sanullim to Hold First Stage of the Year with 'Encore Performance' Starting from the 17th
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The small theater Sanwoollim is preparing "Encore Sanwoollim Classic Theater" as its first stage this year, meeting audiences from the 17th of this month to the 14th of next month.
Sanwoollim selected two of the six performances from the "Sanwoollim Classic Theater," held from June to August last year under the theme "French Classics and Artistic Imagination," to prepare this performance.
"The Herd of Pigs," performed from the 17th to the 28th, is an adaptation of George Sand's "The Talking Oak." It raises contemporary questions through the story of George Sand, the first French female writer to earn money by writing, and Amelie, who faces difficulties after losing her herd of pigs.
From March 3rd to 14th, "Maupassant of Fantasy" will be staged. This work weaves together four stories by Guy de Maupassant?"The Hair," "The Man," "The Martian," and "Dream"?into a new narrative, showcasing high completeness and faithful reproduction of the original works.

Since 2013 until last year, Sanwoollim has presented a total of 40 works under the name "Sanwoollim Classic Theater." A Sanwoollim official stated, "These days, the combination of various arts creating new art through the meeting of literature and theater is receiving great response," adding, "It has firmly established itself as Sanwoollim's representative repertory planning program."
