Songpa-gu Youth Facility Ontact Program Open
Operating Educational Mental Health Recreation Program... Overcoming COVID-19 through Education, Mental Health, and Cultural Experiences
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) provides the 'Together Yet Apart, Ontact Youth Program' through ▲Songpa Youth Center ▲Songpa Youth Counseling and Welfare Center ▲Jamsil Youth Center.
In the era of COVID-19, where youth activities are restricted, Songpa-gu youth facilities operate education, mental health, and recreation programs for youth participation through non-face-to-face methods.
Songpa Youth Center offers '4th Industrial Revolution education' such as basics of coding and using 3D printers through interactive communication using ZOOM. It also provides experiential education opportunities for youth by operating classes like making desk clocks using experience kits.
Songpa Youth Counseling and Welfare Center expands the 'non-face-to-face customized counseling program' to promote youth mental health. It operates counseling via phone, email, and Kakao Channel for social distancing, aiming to support youth experiencing psychological difficulties such as emotional isolation.
Additionally, through video conferencing, case meetings, expert discussions, and linking with community resources, it will help resolve concerns and conflicts during adolescence through multifaceted approaches.
Jamsil Youth Center operates 'Jam·Cheong·Sen Billboard,' which lends board games and books to support cultural activities. Applications are made in advance through online media, and after receiving board games and other items at the center, participants can enjoy them at home and return them afterward. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, all rental items are thoroughly disinfected to ensure safety and expand experiential opportunities.
The usage fee is free.
Mayor Park Seong-su stated, “We have prepared programs that provide various experiences and mindfulness opportunities to youths who may have felt much fatigue due to activity restrictions caused by COVID-19. We hope they recover a healthy daily life by thinking together, experiencing, and sharing their feelings.”
