According to Jeonnam Province, Governor Kim's visit was carried out to check the quarantine status of traditional markets, where there is concern about the occurrence of local COVID-19 infections due to increased visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday.
He also encouraged and comforted merchants who have faced difficulties due to weakened consumer sentiment.
Governor Kim explained Jeonnam Province's COVID-19 response measures for the Lunar New Year, the progress of the 3rd emergency livelihood support, and small business support policies.
He also expressed gratitude to the traditional market merchants who cooperated in complying with quarantine rules.
He visited stores inside Mokpo General Fisheries Market and directly purchased local specialties such as skate and fish using the 'Jeonnam Happiness Local Currency (Mokpo Love Gift Certificate)'.
Governor Kim said, "Everyone is going through a difficult time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, so this Lunar New Year holiday is very important for a prompt return to daily life. I ask the residents to thoroughly comply with quarantine rules and refrain from visiting their hometowns and traveling during the holiday period to prevent the spread of infection."
