Gyeongnam Province Conducts Regular and Occasional Inspections of 8,700 Facilities... Expands Participation of Private Experts
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do recently announced on the 9th that it has expanded the facility safety inspection advisory group from 20 experts in 7 fields to 50 experts in 8 fields in response to recent incidents of gas explosions in residential areas and hospital fires.
A total of 50 facility safety experts in 8 fields including civil engineering, architecture, electricity, elevators, and children's playground facilities provide technical advice on establishing safety measures by field, conduct on-site safety inspections of facilities, and offer consulting to facility managers.
The regular inspection targets are 7,935 facilities subject to the 'Facility Safety Act' (Types 1, 2, and 3). The managing entities must conduct safety inspections according to the legally prescribed cycles and inspection methods based on the type and grade of the facility, and input the inspection results into the Facility Management System (fms) to obtain approval.
Seven hundred facilities that are prone to disasters, such as multi-use facilities and children's playgrounds, as well as seasonally vulnerable facilities, must undergo occasional and special inspections (700 facilities).
