COWON Signs Publishing Contract for 'National Game' Fortress V2
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] COWON (formerly NesM), a game publishing specialist, announced on the 9th that it has partnered with developer Letiad and IP holder CCR to launch the global service of ‘Fortress V2’.
Fortress began domestic service in 1999 and was the first to attract 10 million subscribers, even hosting nationwide Fortress game tournaments.
It also expanded into overseas markets such as Japan, Taiwan, and China, and has been a representative long-running Korean game loved by users for 20 years.
Fortress is a simple online shooting game where players select cute tank characters and calculate angles and wind to deplete the opponent’s energy first to win.
Lee Seunghoon, CEO of COWON, said, “Fortress is a proven representative Korean game with a cumulative global user base of 50 million,” adding, “Since it is a familiar game, we expect it to successfully establish itself not only in Korea but also in the global game market.”
Fortress V2 is currently serviced worldwide through the game platform ‘Steam,’ and plans to release a mid-scale update on the 9th, as well as add siege battle modes, clan communities, and faction league updates in the first half of this year to enhance gameplay.
